Our Process
List management is a fairly straightforward exercise. Our basic job is
- to make sure that your list is sufficiently advertised to the list community (mailers, list brokers, direct marketing agencies),
- to aggressively contact, meet with and market to those who are most likely to benefit from the use of your data,
- to be available to the same for questions, orders and follow-up,
- to constantly look for new ways to maximize net revenue to the list owner, and
- to collect that revenue, render reports and remit the same to the list owner on a timely and consistent basis.
The trick is to engage a list management professional that, above all, gets the job done right every time. You need a company and person dedicated to your account that is experienced, proficient, honest, reliable and accessible.
There will always be list management companies that will have you believe that they have found a way to “build a better mousetrap.” Flashy reports and deceptive rhetoric is often employed to convince you that they are somehow better equipped to handle your mailing list needs. Sadly, these are often the companies that are the least equipped to handle the most important task of the list manager, namely making sure that they are available for questions and orders and process the same efficiently without error. Fundamentally, we at Rickard have never forgotten this important lesson, and we always make sure that the seemingly simplest and most routine (albeit important) aspects of our responsibility to our clients is done right every time.
There are a myriad of list management companies that can market a list, take an order and send you checks. What separates the best managers from the rest is their sense that they are but an extension of the list owner in all facets of the list process, always looking out for your best interests.
