Origin
Rickard List Marketing is a d/b/a name of R&R Direct Mail, Inc. Robert Rickard is the Chairman and founder of R&R Direct Mail, Inc. He began his direct marketing career in 1964 with O.E. McIntyre, the predecessor to the company known today as Experian. Mr. Rickard's initial experiences with McIntyre served as the foundation for his extensive knowledge of demographics, psychographics, regression analysis and the other fundamentals of direct marketing. R & R Direct was incorporated in 1978 when Mr. Rickard first branched out on his own as a direct marketing consultant. The list brokerage division developed in the late '70s. In 1985, Rickard List Marketing was created as a truly independent list brokerage and management division of R&R Direct Mail, Inc. Rickard List Marketing is a member of the DMA.
Corporate Philosophy
There is a tendency among list professionals these days to attempt to differentiate themselves to potential clients on the basis of some supposedly proprietary system or method of list brokerage or management. In reality, our experience has been that mailers and list owners are much more focused on the basics than they ever were. Fundamentally, we at Rickard have been around for nearly 25 years because we have learned that lesson and always make sure that the seemingly simplest and most routine (albeit important) aspects of our responsibility to our clients is done right every time.
